Dr. Fatima Akilu

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Dr. Akilu is a trained Psychologist with over 20 years' experience in the field of mental health and psychology. She is also a Communications' expert, having worked as the Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Leadership Newspaper and a Head of Communications to the Former Senior Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on Millenium Development Goals (MDGs).

Dr. Akilu is a renowned C/PVE Expert and served as the Director of Behavioural Analysis and Strategic Communications at the Office of the National Security Adviser from 2012 - 2015. In this capacity, she pioneered Nigeria's Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) programme. A seasoned educationist with over 12 years' lecturing experience as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Broome Community College (USA), Dr. Akilu has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Reading (UK).

Mrs. Hurera Atta

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & HEAD, PROGRAMMES & ADMINISTRATION

A devoted advocate of human rights, civil liberties, and education - especially for girls from disadvantaged backgrounds - Mrs. Atta has built a legal and corporate career spanning over 28 years. She handled highprofile and controversial human rights cases representing young at-risk women. In her capacity as General Manager at Allan Woods Limited, she oversaw and spearheaded the development of the educational institution to bridge the gap in the area of professional development for Nigerian professionals. Mrs. Atta holds an LL.B from University College Wales, Aberystwyth (UK) and qualified with a Bachelors of Law (B.L) from the Council of Legal Education (Nigerian Law School) in 1992.

Dr. Abiye Iruayenama

HEAD, PSYCHOLOGY & STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS EXPERT

Dr. Iruayenama is a socio-cognitive Psychologist and communications expert. He has extensive experience in delivering capacity building workshops on mental health and wellness , Psychology for Leaders and Effective Management Strategies for national and international clients. Dr. Iruayenama has supported the design and implementation of P/CVE and post-conflict reintegration programme, and has offered self-care trainings to frontline practitioners responding to the consequences of violent extremism and conflict in Northeast Nigeria and Syria. Dr. Abiye Iruayenama has a PhD in Psychology from Brunel University (UK).

Ahmad Jumare

HEAD, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS & ADVOCACY

Mr Jumare has diverse experience in the areas of security, strategic communications, project management and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). He has represented Nigeria in several high-level security and social developmental meetings across the world. of Maiduguri. He also participated in the development of the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) messaging toolkit, a strategic communications tool designed to aid the development campaigns and counter-narratives for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) working in the preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) space. Mr Jumare has a BSc in International Business from Middlesex University (UK).

Peter Ebeh

PSYCHOLOGIST AND HEAD OF TRAINING CENTRE

Mr. Ebeh is a Psychologist with over 10 years’ progressive experience in Psychology and Counselling . He is the Head of Neem’s Psychology and Training Centre in Maiduguri, Borno State. Mr. Ebeh has provided psychotherapy to highly radicalized women whose husbands were front line Boko Haram fighters in Borno state, and counselling to over 2,000 children formerly associated with armed group. He also trains staff of partner organisations on self-care and wellness, as well emotional intelligence. Mr. Ebeh has a Masters in Psychology from the University of Maiduguri.
